INSIKA solution for taximeters
First presentation on the European taxi fair in Cologne 2010

The Federal Ministry of Finance in Germany has published a new regulation regarding cash registers and taximeters to ensure complete and correct recording of revenues.

HALE has realised a solution, which is based on INSIKA (integrated security solution for cash registers), developed by the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB), the national metrology institute of Germany.

The taximeter data is cryptographically signed via a so-called TIM (tax identification module) - a smart card, issued to the taxi owner - and is transferred to a server. The system is based on the MID taximeters MCT-06 und SPT-02, which are connected to a transfer unit.

The owner has access to all data like shifts, trips, revenue, etc. via the taxi owner portal.

The examiner can check the relevant fiscal data after release by the owner or the owner can transmit the data directly for examination.

Manipulation of data can only be protected with cryptographical signature.

Please refer to the official INSIKA homepage for further information.
